What I like about it: beautifully printed, language reads academic but accessible

Misc notes: maybe i’m just out of touch, but I feel like there aren’t many resources that discuss the interdependent relationship between graphic design and capitalism. PS I love this book but it’s a hair too small lol

Misc notes: I listen to this album end to end about 6x/week. Youtube user morpheusLA comments: “Sounds like nothing I’ve ever heard, and everything I’ve ever loved.” Apt.

What I like about it: 10/10 soundtrack, fascinating lore, innovative mechanics, unapologetically cheeky dialogue, charming characters

Biases: I romanticize late 90s/early 00s games

Misc notes: I avoided this game like the plague because I thought some of the fans were annoying… huge mistake. Deffo in my top ~10 now. Made one fatal choice that was thrown back at me towards the end of the game. Devastating.

What I like about it: challenges how we view art, invites us to consider the context in which art is created (who made it? who is it for? who gets to enjoy it?)

Biases: I make art and I think about art a lot

Misc notes: even as someone who considered herself “knowledgeable” in the arts, I found this series incredibly illuminating. Berger is a charming, thoughtful host. Wish we had more stuff like this… man…
